The Department of Insurance received notification from the company that a processing issue with the Allstate Drivewise product has been identified which affects approximately 454 iPhone users in Wyoming. Routine monitoring and audits by the company revealed that the iPhone application was incorrectly reporting driving events, specifically hard braking and rapid acceleration, in approximately 25% of the audited cases.
In response to these findings, the company has confirmed that refunds of the increased premium resulting from the identified Drivewise product processing issue are being issued to all affected customers. These refunds are anticipated to average $45 including interest, and will begin processing on or about May 7. Impacted customers should receive formal notice from Allstate along with their refund check. The company's technical team has implemented a process to resolve this issue and ensure the future accuracy of their products.

Subject: Company Contact Information
Pursuant to W.S. § 26-3-114(e), insurance companies are required to update their contact information within thirty (30) days of any change. As we enter the new year and send annual correspondence, please ensure that all required contact information, including but not limited to a correct company contact person and email address, has been provided to the Department. This is especially important as it relates to appointment renewals, annual assessment notices, service of process, and consumer complaint correspondence where the Department requires specific deadlines. Unless otherwise required by statute, communication with the company will ONLY be sent to the contact information of record so it is imperative that companies have accurate contact information on file. Failure to update information may result in missed communications from the Department and avoidable negative consequences for the company.
To ensure compliance with the Wyoming Insurance Code, please review and update your company’s contact information using the Wyoming Company Address Change Portal. If you prefer, you may also submit contact information updates to the Department by submitting the applicable UCAA form. Statutory fees may apply to some contact information updates.
If you have questions regarding company contact information changes, including questions regarding the appropriate UCAA form to use or applicable fees, please contact the Department.
