FIRE LOSS PREVENTION
With the ever growing risk of wildfires in Wyoming, the Department feels it is important that all consumers have the resources needed to protect themselves and their property.
Fire losses accounted for over two million dollars worth of damage in Wyoming in 2021. We would like to remind consumers that they can avoid these losses by taking precautions to protect their property.
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners and The Center for Insurance Policy Research, in conjunction with Risk Management Systems and the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety have released a guide for the application of wildfire mitigation to insured property exposure. That document is linked below, and free to use for all interested.
If you have any questions about the mitigation methods listed in the guide please feel free to contact the department at any time.
