General ACA Information
The Affordable Care Act is a federally-mandated health care and health insurance law. Wyoming citizens and employers are impacted by this law. Wyoming opposed the Affordable Care Act, and joined other states in a lawsuit to have the law overturned. The United States Supreme Court has upheld the law, and the Affordable Care Act will be implemented in Wyoming and across the country.

Individuals and families may enroll through the Federally Facilitated Marketplace during Open Enrollment Period which begins November 1, 2016 and ends January 31, 2017. Click here for more information.
Coverage becomes effective on January 1, 2017 for people who sign up for coverage between November 1 and December 15, 2016. For people who sign up between December 16, 2016 and January 15, 2017, coverage will be effective on February 1, 2017. Following that, if a consumer enrolls by the 15th of the month, coverage will be effective on the first day of the following month. If a consumer enrolls after the 15th of the month, coverage will be effective on the first day of the second following month.
During the Open Enrollment Period, consumers will be able to change plans, change insurance companies or stay with the plan they have, if it is still available. To enroll through the Marketplace, please visit www.healthcare.gov.
